PIA - Flow Diagram and Legal Authorities Table (Section C)

Flow Diagram and Legal Authorities (Section C)

Document Purpose and Overview

A Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) describes how proposed administrative practices or information systems may affect the privacy of the individuals who are the subjects of the information.

This section of the PIA has two parts.

  1. Information Flow Analysis - Describes the flow of health information for the project you are implementing.
  2. Legal Authorities Table - Supports the Information Flow Diagram and describes the purposes and legal authorities for each collection, use and disclosure of health information.

The proper form to use is the PIA Annotated Template. This template is intended to assist community-based custodians in completing PIAs. It can be accessed on this page on the Alberta Health website.
