Free radon education program for health care providers from McMaster University

On demand

November is Radon Action Month. In support of Health Canada’s public awareness campaign, McMaster University provides various free resources for health care professionals to increase their knowledge about this important topic.

Did you know:

  • Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and is linked to 3000+ deaths annually in Canada.
  • For those who smoke, the lung cancer risk is increased.
  • All homes in Canada have some level of radon - a colourless, odourless, radioactive gas. What matters is how much.
  • Simple home testing and taking action to reduce levels if they are high is the key to risk reduction.

Healthcare professionals can learn more at radon.machealth.ca. There they will find:

  • A free, 15-minute, self-paced online course Radon: Is it in your patients’ homes
  • Patient and provider resources
