The Patient Summary report is a standardized collection of clinical patient data curated by the provider and uploaded to Alberta Netcare Portal (ANP) from their EMR. The PDF report is available for display in ANP.
The most important patient data is available at the point of care, enabling providers with a snapshot of relevant health information. This allows more time to focus on direct care and not having to rely on patients to remember or repeat their medical information and history.
Types of clinical data that may be curated and uploaded by the provider:
- Medications
- Allergies
- Problems
- Procedures
- Vitals
- Social History
- Family History
Patient Summary was co-designed by Alberta Health, Canada Health Infoway, Alberta Medical Association, and Alberta physicians.
EMR Development Status
The ability to upload Patient Summaries from CII/CPAR-conformed EMRs is still in development. This function will be rolled out to Healthquest clinics first, starting in late 2024 and early 2025. Other EMR vendors will develop and launch the Patient Summary feature later.
