This is a three-hour session for those who anticipate doing a lot of media.

Please note this session will not be recorded. Hosted by the AMA's Shan Rupnarain, AED Public Affairs, with our media training partner Grant Ainsley, this is a three-hour session for those who anticipate doing a lot of media. It will involve working up messages, doing mock interviews, receiving feedback (and trying again if there's time). Space is limited for this session

Shannon Rupnarain, MBA, Assistant Executive Director of Public Affairs, has been with the AMA for over 25 years and is a member of the AMA’s Senior Management Team, providing overall leadership to and responsibility for the Public Affairs branch.

Grant Ainsley is a former award-winning journalist and public relations professional who now works with politicians, business executives, association leaders and other professionals to help refine their messages to the public. He’s one of Canada’s top media trainers and does virtual workshops for clients across Canada and in different parts of the world. He’s the author of the book The Honest Spin Doctor on media relations. While in radio In Edmonton, Grant served as morning news anchor, did a daily talk show and had a role in management. He was also in charge of Communications for the City of Edmonton’s Public Relations Department and for over a decade, was CEO of a large Alberta association.

Grant lives in Edmonton, and with wife Deborah they have four grown children.
