New website is here! What to do

After many months of intense work and consultation with member stakeholders and web experts, I am thrilled to let you know that the AMA has launched a new and improved website.

Dear Members,

After many months of intense work and consultation with member stakeholders and web experts, I am thrilled to let you know that the AMA has launched a new and improved website. While the address remains the same – albertadoctors.org – the design is brand new, as are many of the features that have been added to enhance the member experience and improve our online presence overall. The site is not only fresher on the eyes, but also faster, more flexible and easier to use.

What’s new/improved

  • New, world-class search engine that will keep learning as time passes.
  • A host of features (with more to come after launch) designed to give members quick, personalized access to content relevant to you – this includes links to your dashboard, Fee Navigator® and more.
  • Upgraded security.
  • An acronym glossary.
  • Improved mobile-friendly design to allow for a seamless experience on any device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.)
  • And many other (less glamorous!) cost-and-time saving features behind the scenes designed to make the website faster, cheaper, more secure, more flexible and ready to meet member needs into the future.

Website login change

I sent an email last week to let members know that you will no longer log in to the website with your membership number. You will now need to use the email address associated with your AMA membership as your username (this is the email you typically receive President's Letters). Please visit Login Help or contact our Help Desk if you need help or want to create an account. Keep in mind, your password must be strong and not be in use elsewhere, e.g., on social media.

I strongly recommend you update your login credentials ahead of the fall to ensure you’re all set for membership renewal, elections, your committees, etc.

Feedback

I encourage all members to take some time to explore and get accustomed to the website’s new look, feel and organization. Simply visit albertadoctors.org to get started.

You can provide feedback and suggestions directly to the web team by using the in-page feedback form. Each page has a button that says, “Was this page helpful?”. If you’d like to leave a comment or suggestion, simply click the thumbs down icon to open up the form, make your comments and click submit. It’s that easy!

The AMA is committed to continually improving our services to better meet member needs, and this new website is just one of the many exciting initiatives we are undertaking. Should you have any questions or need assistance navigating the new site, please don't hesitate to contact our web support team at webmaster@albertadoctors.org.

In closing, I want to recognize and thank the many AMA staffers who worked so hard on this project. The website is the AMA’s flagship communications tool and is the number one way that our members, the media and the public interact with the Association. I look forward to continuing to see the website evolve and change over time to better serve members.

Welcome to the future of the AMA online!

Regards,

Paul Parks
