The demand for Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT)'s practice facilitation courses is on the rise.
During fall 2023, three additional sessions needed to be added after the two planned sessions filled up quickly.
The increase in interest stems from the recognition of just how important practice facilitators are to creating and maintaining a high-performing health system. They develop roles and processes to make effective team-based care a reality.
For close to a decade, ACTT has been offering practice facilitation courses to Albertans. Currently, we provide 35 complimentary practice facilitation courses, created in collaboration with Alberta Primary Care Networks and funded by Alberta Health.
To date, close to 450 practice facilitators have been trained by ACTT with more than 50 in the process of completing the training.
Participants can enroll in one of two training options:
- Comprehensive (Time Commitment: 45 hours)
Designed for those working directly with clinic teams to facilitate quality improvement. - Self-Directed (Time Commitment: 15 hours)
Designed for those wanting to learn more about practice facilitation but don't directly lead it or those with previous completed training.
All training is enhanced with wraparound supports through the Network of Practice connecting peers from across the province to build skills and advance team-based care together.
