The Alberta Medical Association is searching for an experienced senior administrative professional for the position of Coordinator, Health System Transformation.

The AMA has a hybrid work environment; therefore, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work from home within Alberta but will be required to go into our Edmonton or Calgary offices when required. Travel to meet with physicians and other stakeholders throughout the province may be required.

HST Overview

The Health System Transformation branch represents the AMA’s interests by supporting physicians in their role as leaders within the health care system. This includes facilitating the development, integration and implementation of innovations in health care delivery by working with and providing support to various provincial health strategic initiatives, including but not limited to advancing the Patient’s Medical Home and integration with the health neighborhood.

It also has the responsibility for the management and operations of the AMA’s Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT).

Position Overview

The Coordinator, HST is responsible for coordination of assigned initiatives and providing senior support to the Executive Vice President. The coordinator will support leadership and physician committees in the HST branch to complete and coordinate the work of the branch.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and coordinate the master HST schedule of work and priorities. Track and monitor deliverables and action items of assigned committees and projects. Provides guidance on priorities, tasks and deadlines based on master schedule.
  • Ensure standardization of documentation and process across HST and committees by providing guidance and ensuring team members follow appropriate processes, guidelines and workflows to align with AMA policies and standards.
  • Conduct independent research and formulated options for projects and committees.
  • Oversee project coordination: using a variety of project delivery tools to ensure smooth project delivery, tracking activities and schedules and identifying risks to timelines and scope creep with EVP or project lead.
  • Support the Advisor and Senior Consultant on Scope and Standards of Practice requests and process, including gathering of feedback from sections and drafting response documents.
  • Provide administrative support for committees, such as Indigenous Health Committee and other meetings as assigned; including scheduling, overseeing logistical details, assisting with agenda and document preparation, preparation of minutes, tracking action items and provide on-site or virtual administrative support.
  • Draft reports/papers, presentations and other business materials for Board, government and other stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • 2 year diploma in business administration or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years senior administrative experience in a professional office and/or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination including project scheduling, coordination of activities and reporting.

The salary range for this role is $62,603 - $81,386 per annum.
