Physician Comprehensive Care Model (PCCM) for primary care

Jointly developed by the Alberta Medical Association’s primary care physician leaders and Alberta Health, the PCCM is a new option under Alberta’s Clinical Alternative Relationship Plans (cARPs). As alternatives to Fee-For-Service (FFS), clinical ARPs align physician compensation with health system objectives.

    As part of the decision-making process, AMA members can utilize the new PCCM Financial Calculator to estimate compensation levels by day or week. In 2025, physicians will see new Alberta Health data in their Member Dashboard, accompanied by an instructional guide.

One of the mandatory physician requirements for the PCCM is the utilization of CPAR, a provincial system that captures the confirmed relationship between a primary provider and their paneled patients.
