An active AMA member
Dr. Dotchin is a member of the Eye Physicians and Surgeons Association of Alberta (EPSAA) and was president of the Section of Ophthalmology
She has been a Calgary Zone representative for the AMA Representative Forum and has served upon the Specialty Care Alliance Board.
A distinguished career
Dr. Stephanie Dotchin obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan in 2005 then completed her ophthalmology specialization at Dalhousie University in 2010 at which time she also became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.
In 2011, at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK Dr. Dotchin completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and in 2012, at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia she completed another fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
Dr. Dotchin is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology (DipABO) and is American Board Certified. She is also a past president of the Canadian Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Favorite AMA memory?
I started attending RF during COVID and all the meetings were via Zoom. I felt like a fish out of water and the AMA staff were supportive and welcoming and helped me to become a effective participant in RF.
On a personal note
Dr. Dotchin loves spending time with her family. Whether that is loving the outdoors hiking, camping, skiing or learning to do ballet for the yearly Nutcracker performance. She also loves to bake and feed people, in general.
