An active AMA member
Dr. Duggan started with the AMA in the late 2000s as the president of the Section of Nephrology. She continued on in leadership roles such as Edmonton RF delegate and a six-year term on the AMA Board of Directors from 2016-2022. Dr. Duggan has served as EZMSA President and is currently completing several years as the Edmonton Zone's clinical department head for critical care.
A distinguished career
Dr. Duggan obtained her medical degree in 1996 from the University of Alberta. She completed her internal medicine residency at Queen's University and then trained in nephrology and critical care at the University of Manitoba. She began her practice in Edmonton in 2002 and after 20 years, she has handed over her nephrology practice to a newly trained physician. Dr. Duggan is currently focusing on critical care and medical leadership.

On a personal note
Dr. Duggan is married to a surgeon and has a teenaged son. She enjoys running and cycling and loves to cook. She also took up knitting during the pandemic and can often be seen doing this during meetings.
