As a lifelong Albertan, I am proud to be a part of the AMA, an organization that reflects the efforts of generations of doctors to advance healthcare in this province. The opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines and career stages towards common goals is inspiring. I’m excited to help shape a stronger future for both physicians and patients.
An active AMA member
Dr. Brennand has been an RF Delegate for the Calgary zone since 2020.
A distinguished career
Dr. Brennand attained her medical degree at the University of Alberta followed by a Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and Urogynecology fellowship at the University of Calgary. She received her Master of Science in Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary and has been Academic and Zone Clinical Department Head for Obstetrics and Gynecology for U of C and AHS from 2023 to present.
Favorite AMA memory?
"My favorite AMA memory is a recent one, when my medical school classmate and friend was unexpectedly "called up" to the role of Deputy Speaker. It was great to see him reign in hundreds of attendees at Rep Forum and be able to contribute in a way that he is uniquely suited to."
On a personal note
"I have three young children, an Airedale Terrier and a flock of backyard chickens. I enjoy my Peloton, gardening and spend the summer canning preserves and jam for my family to enjoy for the rest of the year. I co-lead a national interdisciplinary training program for graduate students on the health of women and girls, called GROWW."
