Committees and Working Groups
The AMA invites members to share their expertise by volunteering to serve on various standing committees and governance groups.
The strength and effectiveness of the AMA are greatly enhanced by the diverse expertise of our committee members. We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our committee appointments, ensuring a broad range of perspectives and insights.
View positions and applyThe AMA's policy provides that committee members receive honoraria and reimbursement for expenses incurred during meetings attended. For more information, please refer to the Guide for Honoraria and Expenses.
The AMA conducts an annual review of membership for standing committees and other groups with available member or chair positions. Recommendations are submitted to the Board of Directors for approval in July, and appointments take effect on October 1 of each year.
Throughout the year, additional committee needs may arise, resulting in calls for applications at various points. We encourage all interested members to consider applying and contributing their valuable knowledge and skills to the AMA.
